on a whim i thought i would post a pic of our summer nature table...
except it's not so much of a table, but more of a basket.. but it's on our dining table so it's a nature table by proxy...
it hasn't got any of the cute little ostheimer or needle felted figures you generally find on nature tables, but it does have shells from our boxing day beach trip, pinecones gathered at lexi's birthday picnic, leaves, seeds and a feather from our bush walk (including a skeleton leaf which impressed the kiddos) and todays addition- a cicada exoskeleton from our garden.. so it does have plenty of nature!
and the book in the back is one from when i was little - Flower Fairies of the Seasons - from which i choose a different summer page every now & again...
in the usual complete chaos that is our home, it is nice to have this little oasis of calm :-)
