a 4.5 month old mobile baby...
who can roll from his back to his front & over again, in both directions.. can do a full push-up and pivot himself around in a circle, and who can commando crawl *backwards* lol...

Having a head-start on our summer garden at the start of spring this year (a DIY poly tunnel from thrifted materials protected us from frost).

The whole family learning new gardening skills together - and being able to pass them onto a "new to NZ" family keen to learn about the Kiwi gardening thing.

The strengthening of connections and skills with new gardening friends through our local community garden (seed potatoes from Koanga gardens getting ready for our allotment).

garlic shoots bursting forth from the garden...

Promise is...

a little girl who can 'clock' a 35pc jigsaw in under 10 minutes, without any help :-)
funnily enough it was a recent birthday present for her big brother, who hasn't touched it, and she has never done a jigsaw before! She plays with it at least once a day :-D (it helps that it has Thomas, James & Mavis on it!)

(i'm doing this little "Promise is.." thing until spring finally rolls around.. inspired by the "Summer is..." series of guest posts on Uncommon Grace :-) lmk if you want to be a guest blogger in my one!)

Promise is...

..new, deep, untreated macrocarpa seedling trays, rich, chocolate brown potting mix, and a stash of heritage seeds..I picked up some of my vege seeds from Koanga Gardens on friday (some are from the Koanga Institute collection.. become a member & save our veges!), and grabbed the last two macrocarpa seedling trays while i was at it! doing woodwork with two toddlers in tow is not something i care to attempt, and i have more things for paul to do for our garden than he has time for already, so i had to resort to these ;-)

I need to get some more seed raising mix before i can start sowing, and i can't wait for the rest or my order to be in stock!!
