once again courtesy of the lovely mrs Designer Bums, i had a chance to learn something new! in this case, how to marble fabric :-D
really fun, but seriously messy!
really fun, but seriously messy!
it's easiest with smallish pieces of fabric, so i cut mine into two little kimono tops, and i've finally sewn one up! The fabric i've used is a lightweight bamboo terry, with ribbed ribbon ties, and we used Procion MX dyes :-D
i'm still undecided whether this is a bit too feminine for Eli.. we usually try not to buy into such stereotypes however, so i might have to try it without the ribbon tied in a bow, and with some pants with tractors on them, or something like that! ;-)
huge thank you's to janine for letting us totally mess up her kitchen for a day!!

That is one stunning top. You are so lucky to have learnt the dyeing. Wish I could.
Cam has a top the same pattern (but a bit bigger), I used snaps instead of ribbon, made it seem a big masculine. Maybe some size 16 snaps?
cheers! :) hmm yeah snaps are a good idea!!
