I realised that i hadn't posted a pic of my tomatoes & cucumber..
So there you go! Pathetic really aren't they? they're about 60cm high, apart from the spindly one 2nd from the right, which is more like 35cm.. *sigh* tho the tomato on the far left is the one with a handful of tiny toms growing (that i posted a pic of a few days ago..) and you might just be able to see the couple of flowers on the cucumber.. but still... *sigh*
on the other hand.. here's what has been going on without my careful tlc..
in the middle of winter i had separated a bunch of strawberry runners off our plants (the plants are now dead..), which then spent a couple of weeks drowning in a plastic box.. seriously, they were entirely underwater! So when i finally managed to deal with them, they were all yellow, so i tossed them out onto our side patch of weeds...
well what have we here...

yup, one has not only survived, but is living quite happily next to the worm farm (in amongst the weeds)
and out the back, in amongst some other weeds...

a rather large pumpkin, or maybe cucumber, that has suddenly appeared out of nowhere! We are presuming that at some point we must have tossed out some pumpkin/cucumber seeds in our bokashi (since this whole area is where we bury our bokashi) and instead of dieing, it has decided to grow instead!
In other words, the stuff that i *didn't* plant or look after at all, is actually doing better than the things that i have been carefully tending..
So i think this is nature-1, nova's nuture-0.. hmph. ;-)
